Claims Processing
To file a claim against the City of Winona, you may either write a letter or fill out the "Notice of Claim Against the City of Winona" and return it to the City Clerk for processing.

If you write a letter, please include your name, address, daytime phone number, the date the accident or incident occurred, and a description of the accident. Please include a description of your damages, and cost estimates to repair. (Auto damage requires two estimates.)

If you use the Claim Form, please be sure to sign and date the form.

Your claim will be forwarded to the City’s insurance company for investigation. The City Council will also receive a copy of the notice. If you have questions regarding this process, please contact the City Clerk.
